LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A local TV reporter asked the local-TV-reporter question: Did Nick Senzel have happy memories of his time in Louisville?
The Reds’ top prospect, who played 44 games for the Louisville Bats in 2018, started with the typical answer to that question, saying yes, but then he stopped himself.
“Well, not really, because I did get hurt and had vertigo for the second time,” he said.
Senzel, whose 2018 was cut short after a finger injury and whose 2019 was started late because of an ankle injury, was happy to be playing games against a team not wearing a Cleveland Indians uniform (extended spring training games are often against Cleveland because the two complexes are next door to each other in Goodyear, Arizona), but being in Louisville isn’t his goal, nor is it exactly where he wants to be. It’s the first step to getting to Cincinnati, albeit one that’s close literally and figuratively.
